Favorite Event:
I have two favorites. One I can’t attend any longer and the other I can. I used to love going to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Charity holiday party at the Royal Armoury in Leeds. The organization is run by parents of children with cancer. At each party we had a couple hundred children and their families in attendance. Every year we heard about parents who said the party was one of the best and last memories they had with their child. I was glad we had buckets on. Now, I really enjoy Air & Scare. There I get to catch up with many Star Wars brothers and sisters while bringing smiles to around 20,000 people.
Most Memorable Trooping Moment:
Standing guard in front of conductor’s podium at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and then getting to shake hands with George Takei after the show.
First Contact with the 501st Legion:
Actually, I stumbled on the 501st while looking for a gorilla costume. I never did get the gorilla. Once I found out there was a world-wide organization dedicated to Imperial costuming, I was hooked. I quickly got in touch with my local garrison, UK Garrison, and started my first build.
Reason for Joining the 501st Legion:
I grew up participating in service organizations, i.e. Scouts, Alpha Phi Omega, etc. and I’ve always been a sci-fi fan. The 501st lets me pursue both at the sametime. A sci-fi service organization, who could ask for more?
Favorite Star Wars___________:
Movie: A New Hope, because it was the start of it all!
Favorite Star Wars Character:
R2-D2. As a kid I wanted to build an astromech. That is what lead me to study electronics and then my career as an engineer.
Other Hobbies:
Aikido, video games (PC), comics, and slowly trying to learn music (bass guitar and harpejji).
