Aspiring TK in SoMD

Postby vettereddie » Wed May 04, 2016 3:06 pm

Happy Star Wars Day!

Completing an Anovos TK build and hoping to submit for 501st approval before Awesome Con. Down to the shoulder and thigh straps, and a bit of sanding and strategic foam for armor bites.

Would have loved to crash the last armor party, but I'm waaaaay down in southern Maryland (almost to St. Mary's College/St. Mary's City) with a 9 month old padawan, so time can be sometimes limited. Looking forward to sending in photos for approval.

Here's the test fit I did yesterday for May the 4th. Chest straps, back plate, thigh straps and calves are all held by blue painter tape in the rear.

Laundry list of items still on the ToDo List:
- Chest straps (white elastic, glue back, double snap front, snap in middle for shoulders)
- Back plate (need to shape curve at shoulder, I'm on the tall side at 6'0")
- Shoulder bell straps (black elastic, glue to bell, snap to shoulder)
- Thigh straps (black elastic, glue to thigh, sewn loop to black nylon belt worn under suit)
- Calves (white Velcro strip, need to hot water shape for closure in back)
- Ab buttons painter/installed
- Holster modded (remove 2 screws, canvas patch taken from under Velcro)

Internal strapping is primarily repurposed Anovos elastic, just E6000 glued instead of Velcro.

Have the cheap Disney E-11, will be submitting without a blaster, would it be OK to troop at unofficial events w/ the Disney painted but no resin mods?

Just repaint it and your fine. People troop with them all the time.

The e-11 I own is just a painted Disney one with some resin mod parts on it.
